According to legend, the village was owned by a squire named Wich, after whom the village is named. He divided his property among his five sons, who are commemorated in the names of the homesteads. "U Danehlů" (At the Danehls'), "U Kubíčků" (At the Kubíček family), "U Adámků" (At the Adámeks'), and "U Petráčků" (At the Petráčeks').
The memorial linden tree is probably named after his son, Daniel.
