Information
The Černohorské Rašeliniště Nature Reserve, located in the Krkonoše Mountains, is the largest forest-type peat bog in the area. It is estimated to be around 6,000 years old. The peat bog is home to rare plant species, including sphagnum mosses, sedges and rushes. The dense vegetation provides a habitat for the viviparous lizard, the black grouse and small aquatic animals. Wooden boardwalks guide visitors through this unique landscape to an observation tower offering beautiful views of the central peatland meadow.
