Horní Štěpanice is a village-type reservation. Štěpanice was a village of musicians, shoemakers and blacksmiths, and in one of the chalets they produced " honcouka" - a liquor flavoured with various forest plants; one of the flavours was šiškouka, flavoured with a liquor made from unripe spruce cones.
