Information
Lví důl, a somewhat exotic name, probably originated in the 17th century, when timber was extracted for the Kutná Hora silver mines. Evidence of logging can still be seen in eight places where charcoal mills were built. Arsenic and iron ore were also mined here in the past after the mining was transferred from the Obří důl in Pec pod Sněžkou.
On the way through Lví důl we can see the meadow enclave of Šíma's chalets. This is one of the most beautiful and least known views of Sněžka, Jelení důl and Svorova hora.
