Not far from Slunečná stráň, less than a 10-minute walk in the direction of Svoboda nad Úpou, is the Svobodský kras educational trail with the Medvědí (Bear's) Cave, where the bones of a brown bear and of a bat have been found. This makes the Medvědí Cave the richest palaeontological site in the Krkonoše.
